This training module will cover the following:
• An introduction to Legionella, Pseudomonas and other opportunistic waterborne pathogens
• The consequences of waterborne infection
• Identifying environments where Legionella and Pseudomonas can proliferate
• An overview of the guidance and legislation used for the control of Legionella and Pseudomonas in healthcare water systems
• The control of Legionella and Pseudomonas in engineered hospital water systems
• Correct methods for collecting and storing water samples**
• Written assessment
** A practical session and assessment of water sampling techniques can also be provided if required. 48 hours notice required. Additional topics can be covered on request
